We have had a busy week!
For Chinese New Year we made stir-fry and ate in our classroom Chinese restaurant.
On Tuesday our Secret Reader was Mrs Shenston who shared her favourite book 'Each Peach Pear Plum'.
And on Wednesday we had a visit from a road safety advisor.
We have been learning about an artist called Monet. We have been looking at his painting with waterlilies.
We used paints, pastels and tissue paper to make our own waterlilies. We drew circles and smudged the pastels with our fingers. We looked at pictures of his garden in Giverny. We also looked at some of his other paintings.
We have been busy in Clover class this month.
We have been learning about crossing the road safely. We have been learning our 'Stop, Look and listen ' rhyme.
We talked about where we could cross the road safely.
Chinese New Year
We have begun to talk about 'Chinese New Year'. It is the year of the pig this year.
We talked about preparations for the festival. We will be making lanterns next week for our 'Chinese takeaway'.
We will also be having special snack next week, including rice, noodles and spring rolls.
We have just come to the end of our theme on dinosaurs.
We chose our own dinosaur and made models which we displayed.
We had fun learning all the names.
We had a non-uniform day today. We raised money for 'Children In Need'. We dressed up in spots or stripes.
We looked after our Pudsey bear all morning and had lots of fun.
Role Play: We have been making tea in our role play area. We have been very careful with our new cups and saucers. We have been practising our talking and listening skills using the telephone.
Spiders: We had lots of fun during our 'Spider week' . We sang the nursery rhyme 'Incey Wincey Spider'. We were able to thread our own spider webs and make scrumptious spider biscuits.
Numicon: We have been exploring and printing with numicon plates.
Mark-making: We have been drawing patterns on our whiteboards, using lines and circles.
