Birchwood Sports Partnership

Hillmead Primary School is a proud and active member of the Birchwood Sports Partnership (BSP). As part of the BSP, children are lucky enough to be able to take part in many events, including tag rugby, hockey, football, gymnastics and athletics. To learn more about the Sports Partnership please go to https://www.birchwoodonline.co.uk/bsp/

Our Sport/PE Coordinator is Mr Wisbey, supported by Mrs Coldicott. Mrs Emma Walsh is the Associate Governor with responsibility for sport.

School Sports Organising Crew (SSOC)

This is our team of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils who have been chosen to become members of the School Sports Organising Crew (SSOC). The SSOC assist with the running of intra-school sporting events and playground activities. The SSOC also promote and support our annual School Games Day.

The SSOC demonstrate and promote these values: self belief, teamwork, determination, honesty, passion and respect.

The team meet on  a regular basis to plan upcoming events. Please look at the school sports board in the main corridor for further details.

Hillmead Sports Newsletters

To find out more about the events we have taken part in and the achievements of our pupils both inside and outside of school, please read our sports newsletters.

Hillmead School of Fame

Have you achieved something sport related out of school that you would like to be celebrated? (Be it dancing, gymnastics, karate or even golf). If so please contact Mr Wisbey (via admin@hillmead.herts.sch.uk) with details of who you are, what you have achieved, where you achieved it and even a photo if you have one. We'd love to celebrate your sporting achievements in one of our assemblies.
