Safeguarding at Hillmead

At Hillmead Primary School and Nursery, the safety, wellbeing and happiness of every child are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, respected and protected, and is encouraged to grow in confidence, enjoy learning and reach their full potential.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We work in partnership with families, external agencies and our wider community to help protect children from harm and ensure they receive the support they need as early as possible. Our staff are committed to recognising, reporting and responding appropriately to any concerns about a child's safety or welfare.

At Hillmead, we believe that every child has the right to feel safe all of the time and to talk to someone about anything that worries them, however big or small. Through our Protective Behaviours work, we help children develop the confidence to recognise when something doesn't feel right and to seek help from a trusted adult. We want every child to know that their voice matters and that they will be listened to.

The welfare of our pupils is at the heart of everything we do. By working together with children, families and our wider community, we aim to ensure that every child feels safe, supported and able to thrive both in school and beyond.

If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child, please contact the school office so that your concern can be passed to the appropriate member of our safeguarding team.
