Hillmead shortlisted for huge cash grant from Tesco

Hillmead Primary School has been shortlisted as one of three organisations in the region to receive funds from Tesco to transform its school garden into an outdoor learning space as well as a wildlife haven.

We are asking shoppers to vote for their project in the Tesco Bags of Help initiative which awards grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 awarde to environmental and greenspace projects.

Hillmead will use any funding to reinvigorate its pond and provide an outdoor classroom for environmental studies as well as to raise chicks for eggs and keep bees for honey. With the money from Tesco all pupils at Hillmead could readily experience science learning through doing rather than listening. Read the newspaper article here.
