We were very fortunate to be the recipients of a donation of £300 towards music in school from the Bishop's Stortford Decorative and Fine Arts Society, whose Young Arts section aims to encourage and support the development of art and music curriculums in school at a time at a time when these subjects may be under pressure.
We used this generous donation to fund the purchase of some high quality had chimes which can be used by years across the school to develop their musical abilities. Our Year 5 Class recently performed 'Away in a Manger' at our Christingle Service.
Each year we are proud to be able to send Year 6 to take part in the Young Voices Choir event, the largest choir of schoolchildren in the country, which culminates in a performance of thousands of children singing at the O2 arena in London. It is a fantastic experience for everyone and we are looking forward to and practising for February's performance already. Please see the link below for details about Young Voices.
