Mrs M Shenston
It has been ten years since I first joined Hillmead Primary school and in that time, I have had the pleasure of watching the children grow and flourish. There have been many changes since I took over the Headship but the constant that remains is my commitment to ensuring that our school is a welcoming, safe and nurturing environment in which children can thrive and achieve their very best. I have been in education for over twenty years, working in schools across both Hertfordshire and Essex and this, combined with the close working relationships I have with headteacher colleagues across the town, means that I have a great deal of experience in dealing with the challenges of every day school life.
Beyond the school gates I love the outdoors. I am a keen beekeeper, I enjoy riding my horse and walking my dogs. I am a great believer in using the outdoors to promote good mental health and wellbeing and I am keen to ensure that life at school reflects these opportunities too.

Mrs L McMillan
I joined Hillmead in 2012 and have taught in both Year 4 and Year 6, I am currently teaching in Year 2. I was lucky enough to do my teacher training at Hillmead School back in 2010 and was thrilled when I had the opportunity to join the school as a permanent member of staff. Having now been appointed as Assistant Headteacher, I am looking forward to continuing to make a difference to the children in our school.
