School Admissions


Children from Reception to Year 6 are admitted to Hillmead School in accordance with the policy of Hertfordshire County Council. More information on the Hertfordshire County Council admissions policy and appeals can be found here. Nursery admissions applications are made direct to school - information is lower down this page.

Nursery Admissions

Applications for admission to Nursery in September 2023 will open on Monday 16th January 2023 via the online form below:

The admissions timetable is as follows:

  • Monday 16 January 2023 – Applications open for nursery class
  • Friday 10 March 2023 3.30pm – Applications close
  • Monday 20 March 2023 – Hillmead School will offer places to parents by email
  • Monday 24 April 2023 3.30pm – Deadline for parents to accept a place in Hillmead Nursery class

We are pleased to invite prospective parents into school to see our Nursery Class. Our parent tours will being with a short Head's talk followed by a a walk through the school and some time in the nursery classroom. Tours are available on the following days:

  • Thursday 19th January
  • Friday 3rd February
  • Monday 27th February

All tours are 10am to 10.45am.

Please email the school office to book your place giving your name, contact number and your child's first name and date of birth.

Little Ladybirds Pre-School

 

Little Ladybirds is an onsite pre-school for Nursery parents to access their free 30 hours entitlement in the afternoons. The pre-school takes place in the nursery classroom so there is a seamless transition in care for the children staying on after the school nursery class ends at 12pm. It is also open to children 2 years and up. The pre-school is run by Early Birds and Night Owls - please contact them directly for more information and to book a place.
