School Admissions

Children are admitted to Hillmead School in accordance with the policy of Hertfordshire County Council. More information on the Hertfordshire County Council policy can be found here

For parents interested in applying for a Reception place in September 2021, we are very pleased to be able to provide you with a virtual tour of the school, and a talk by our Headteacher, Mrs Michelle Shenston. We hope you will find them both informative and entertaining - please enjoy!

Q&A Sessions with Mrs Shenston

Mrs Shenston will also be offering short Q&A sessions over Zoom at the following times:

Tuesday 10th November 10am

Thursday 19th November 2pm (places available)

Friday 27th November 10am (places available)

Wednesday 9th December 10am (places available)

Each of these sessions will be limited to 6 participants. Please email the school office at admin@hillmead.herts.sch.uk to book a place, stating which date you prefer. We will then email you a link to the meeting, a day before the event. We would be grateful if you would watch both videos before attending the session.

We would like to give priority for these sessions to parents who are new to the school including our Nursery parents. If you are a current parent with a sibling already at Hillmead, we would be grateful if you would email any queries you have to the school office and we will make arrangements for Mrs Shenston to respond to you.

Little Ladybirds Pre-School

Little Ladybirds is an onsite pre-school for Nursery parents to access their free 30 hours entitlement in the afternoons. The pre-school takes place in the nursery classroom so there is a seamless transition in care for the children staying on after the school nursery class ends at 12pm. It is also open to children 2 years and up. The pre-school is run by Early Birds and Night Owls - please contact them directly for more information and to book a place.
