PE

How is PE taught at Hillmead?

Children in KS1 and KS2 are taught an average of 1 hour 30mins of PE a week by both their Class Teacher and an external sports coach (Mr Webb from Rising Stars). At Hillmead we are extremely lucky to have a sports apprentice (Mr Johnson) who assists class teachers during their PE lessons. PE is taught using the Cambridgeshire Sports and Educational Partnership scheme of work and follows the long term plan shown below (although the units are not always taught in this specific order.)

In addition to this, children from Reception through to Year 6 complete the Daily Mile - running laps of the school field which helps to get our minds focused ready for learning.
