Sports Premium Funding
At Hillmead Primary School we are committed to providing all our children with the opportunity to discover and enhance their physical talents as well as giving them the chance to have experiences that they would not normally have during their daily curriculum teaching. We believe that an engaging sports curriculum helps children to develop confidence and a sense of achievement as well as building skills that will help them to tackle other challenges in life.
We have worked hard to improve our sports provision, upskill staff in order to improve our long-term PE teaching and provide extra-curricular sporting opportunities for children across the school. Hillmead's Sports Premium funding will ensure that children are physically active and excited about sport. As well as increasing fitness we hope that children will appreciate team work and a healthy lifestyle. This funding provides the foundations which will allow children to develop a sporting habit for life!
What is Sports Premium Funding?
As part of the Olympic legacy, the government have given all Primary school a grant to be spent solely on enhancing sports provision for pupils in the school. For 2022/23, Hillmead School has been allocated £18,310.
The decision about where to allocate the money has been left to individual schools. However, schools remain accountable for this spending and schools have a duty to report this. The following documents show how we have allocated our Sports Premium Funding. Please be aware that our 2019-2020 plan was affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
